Walnuts contain a significant amount of Omega-3 fatty acids, which makes them helpful in
lowering blood pressure, lowering cholesterol, and preventing cancer.  They are also helpful in supporting healthy memory and overall cognitive functioning.  They can help prevent gallstones and contain bio-available melatonin, which can help you sleep better at night. They contain trace minerals and biotin that help you have shinier, healthier hair.  Their fiber helps with digestion, and they contain alpha linoleic acid which is associated with stronger, healthier bones.  Although they do contain fat, it's a healthy fat and can actually help you lose weight because they are filling, provide protein and vitamins and minerals and help you feel satisfied so you don't eat other foods that have empty calories.
